Job Description Installs new machines or heavy equipment. Dismantles machines or equipment and relocates in the plant as needed. Aligns and balances equipment and replaces broken or damaged parts as related to job. Works from blueprints or layouts or specifications that are provided. Makes shop computations relating to stresses, strength of materials, and centers of gravity Installs, maintains and certifies hoisting and lifting apparatus. Uses hand tools and rigging. Installs and maintains power transmission equipment such as power drives , speed reducers , clutches, and brakes. Uses torches for cutting, heating and be able to do minor welding. Trains lower level millwrights. Directs other employees assisting with millwright work.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Extensive experience and education in the millwrighting trade. Ability to use hand tools. Employees will be required to test into this position Requires extensive training acquired by formal machine trade schooling or equivalent hands-on experience. Reads and interprets blue print. . Must have through knowledge of machine shop practices, and plant safety regulations with regard to operation of mechanical equipment. Uses a wide variety of measuring instruments. Certified and proficient with Fork lift.
